A resident of Brampton, Nirmal Singh, has once again been apprehended by law enforcement, with a history marked by numerous driving infractions and criminal charges. Peel Regional Police identified Singh, 41 years old, as a recurrent offender, having amassed five lifetime driving bans and facing over 30 charges since 2017.
His extensive record includes convictions for various offenses under both the Criminal Code and the Provincial Offence Act (POA), such as operating a vehicle while prohibited, impaired operation, hit-and-runs, and motor vehicle theft.
Singh was recently apprehended by officers in Brampton on April 11, 2024, in connection with a warrant issued by the Toronto police. The charges against him this time include theft of a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle while prohibited, and multiple breaches of probation. Currently, he remains in custody under the jurisdiction of Toronto police.
Peel Regional Police Deputy Chief Marc Andrews emphasized the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to identify and address habitual offenders who pose a threat to public safety. Collaborative measures with other agencies are being undertaken to curb such illegal behavior.
“We will utilize all available legal avenues to deter these reckless individuals from endangering our community,” stated Deputy Chief Andrews in a released statement.
